Exploring Reconciliation

Assemblies and Cross-Curricular Lessons

A Primary Resource Book Key Stages 1-2 (includes audio CD)

Fourteen exciting and unique assembly presentations linked by the common theme of Reconciliation. This provides teachers with a practical resource for the classroom-teaching of Religious Education, Citizenship and PHSE using an arts methodology. The themes take into account requirements for the National Curriculum as well as developing many important communication and social skills.

Each scheme of work is based on a story in the Bible and raises questions and issues which are relevant to the lives of young people of all faiths and none, enhancing pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

This resource can be used by specialists and non-specialists teaching RE, Citizenship, PHSE or the Arts with pupils aged 5-11 years. They prove adaptable so that, within the time restriction of the school’s timetable, a number of prescriptive curriculum elements can be effectively covered together. Inspectors have said it is also suitable for Key Stage 3.

Authors include: Heather Ellis, Andy Morgan, Kitty Morgan, Neil Ruckman, Rosie Smith and James Underwood.
