cre8.ed Mission Statement

cre8.ed works to provide schools and colleges with creative and expressive arts-based training, through values-based programmes, that promote inclusion and cross-cultural respect.

As an educational arts company we teach a creative approach through a range of subject areas. Our work encompasses RE, Citizenship, PSHE, Literacy (Drama), PE (Dance and Movement), Music and Visual Art in a cross-curricular setting.

We reflect the Every Child Matters initiative by delivering Values Education which allows every child to fulfil their potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. We want to equip children and young people to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic wellbeing through releasing their creativity.

In order to deliver the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda cre8.ed aims to:

  • facilitate pupils to appreciate the uniqueness of their individual creative ability and that of others
  • provide high calibre ‘arts’ lessons and weeks
  • engage with the spiritual, moral and social issues in Religious Education, Citizenship and Personal, Social and Health Education
  • provide creative resources on educational themes suitable for all schools, and for pupils and teachers of all faiths and none
  • challenge the young people of the UK to use the arts to explore, understand and appreciate the importance of each person’s contribution to the life of their community, nation and the world.
  • to provide workshops for schools and teacher INSET training through artists drawn from a team of selected and trained artistic practitioners

Values are drawn from the Statement of Values by the National Forum for Values in Education and the Community as summarised in the National Curriculum Handbooks for teachers (SCAA 1999), biblical text and ethnic stories.
